My interest in yoga started as a child. My family

went to India for periods of time and I was

influenced by the culture. When I was six I injured

my spine and needed to do yoga postures like the

plow and the neck bridge to strengthen my spine.

In 1974 I had a Hatha yoga teacher who taught mainly

Iyengar style yoga and I lived in the Transcendental Meditation Center at Ohio University for a few years. From 1977 through 1982 I taught yoga at Ohio University.  During this time through 1995 I studied extensively with Dr. Maung Gyi, who’s father was the Grand Master Monk of Burma at the end of WWII,  in the lost Koghan and Hanthawaddy yoga systems.

In 1982 I began teaching yoga at Garrett County Community College at Deep Creek Lake and at the Krishna temple New Vrindabin in West Virginia. In 1994-95 I moved to Hawaii and taught yoga at Big Island Y.W.C.A. in Hilo, Hawaii. Recently I attended five yoga schools teachers training programs under the Yoga Alliance to check out where yoga is today. I liked Soma Yoga Institute, so took my 500 with them. My focus now is to Propagate the lost Kogan and Hanthawaddy Yoga systems and to have a comprehensive training program to be shared to the world.
